Montgomery County is located adjacent to northwest Philadelphia and is considered part of the Delaware Valley. Many of the towns on Philadelphia's Main Line, the affluent western suburbs along the former Pennsylvania Railroad, are in Montgomery County. Each town has a railroad station for an easy commute to Philadelphia and to destinations beyond. Norristown is the largest city and the county seat. The county is diverse with farms and suburban neighborhoods. There are many employment centers and access to highways and transportation. Parks, nature trails and recreation are within easy reach throughout Montgomery County. One of the most well known and third largest shopping mall in the United States is King of Prussia in Upper Merion Township. The mall is home to luxury shopping with seven major department stores plus more than 450 stores, boutiques and restaurants in 2.9 million square feet of retail space.
